At Sea on Ruby Princess

22nd & 23rdSeptember 2019

Now onboard the Ruby Princess, we have 2 “at sea “ days on our way to our first destination, Los Angeles.

It is a great opportunity to settle in, get to know the ship and wind down a bit after our fairly busy to weeks in Canada.

On the evening of 22nd, we again visited Curtis Stone’s Share restaurant, this time to celebrate Mike and Joy’s 44th wedding anniversary. It was another great meal and another round of complementary champagne to celebrate the occasion.

We have now started to get into on onboard routine of getting a bit of daily exercise, mainly by not using the lifts and having a daily walk around the promenade deck. The ship is a bit bigger than we are used to, so 2.5 laps of the ship equals 1 mile, so a daily target of 10 laps gives us a healthy 6.4 km.

The 23rdwas a pretty lazy day, excluding our  deck walk. There was a briefing session to explain what would happen in LA on arrival. It seems our cruise is made up of 2 cruises, a short one to LA, and then LA to Sydney. We don’t mind as we get extra free internet time as a consequence.
Arrival is at 9.30am, and we will be allowed to disembark at 10.30am. We have arranged to meet up with Peter Macdonald and spend the day with him.

We gave the normal restaurant a go tonight, and the food was pretty good.
